Well, I took a bunch of friends, and we have visited the Eloise Asylum a few times now.

Through the years, we have toured the infamous Eloise Asylum with a historian both inside the building and outside. The history is incredible, and as a native of the area, I have heard stories from friends and family. While the hospital was still open, my mom and her school choir would go and sing for the patients; she said it was even scary back then, with the patients screaming, tied to wheelchairs, and rushing the stage.

During the Halloween season, they have tons of fun and scary things to do: There are food trucks with drinks, popcorn, hotdogs, and more to enjoy before the scary stuff starts. At the same time, the escaped patients walk around.

One seriously creepy show to watch is "The Freak Show." Funny story: while we were watching the show, some lady stepped on a package of ketchup, and it sprayed all over my friend's pant leg, while the dude on stage cut off a body part, and blood sprayed everywhere onstage. I have never seen a grown man jump that high. LOL

You get two haunted houses for the price of one if you dare: the Asylum and the basement. It's super creepy seeing all the instruments they used to control the insane, the patient's dorm, bathrooms, and even the morgue. Don't worry, the doctors will show you how everything works.

Next up for us to do now is try their Escape Room. I am still not sure about this adventure.

Nankin Transit will pick up eligible riders at their home and take them to their destination within the cities of Wayne, Westland, Inkster, Garden City, Canton, and St. Mary's Hospital in Livonia. Their services were a "lifesaver" for me and my husband while we took care of my senior citizen in-laws. With both of us working full time, we couldn't always get the folks to their doctors and testing appointments, dialysis three days a week, and take them shopping. After seeing the care of their drivers and the cleanliness of the buses, we were 100% comfortable that our family would be safe and well taken care of with Nankin Transit.

I enjoy walking with my dogs around this 10-acre park in the middle of Westland. We can watch the kids playing on the soccer fields, skateboarding in the "concrete jungle", and the best is the splash pad area "H2O Zone". Watching the parents not wanting to get wet with the kids is the funniest, and taking a swing in the huge fenced playground is so much fun. Next to the farmers market building are tables and chairs to sit, relax, and enjoy the pond; my pups love watching the ducks. They even have a concession area and bathrooms that are super clean; trust me I know.

My doggos jump out of the car and head straight to the doors of Healthy Paws Daycare! They don't care if they are seeing the Vet, Groomer, spending a few nights, or playing with their friends.
Having full-service veterinary care available (and it's our vet's office) puts my mind at ease. They have a groomer too. You can enjoy one-stop for everything. Healthy Paws is in a great location that is less than 1 mile from I-275.

This is my personal favorite Mexican restaurant; their old name was "New Mexico". You can dine in or take out and I am here a few times a month. Their homemade Salsa and Pico de Gallo, I order by the bucket loads. The two dishes I normally order are their Chicken Chimichangas and Botana. They offer a large back room for dining or parties. I have hosted several large birthday parties and used their catering menu. The only bummer is no cocktails.

I have enjoyed several girls' nights out, shooting the bull and playing some pool at The Ivory Room while enjoying some cocktails and bar food. We also have attended several birthday parties here. It has something for everyone; drinks, pool, games, TVs, and tables for relaxing and chatting.

My parents have been taking us here for 50+ years. Dad's and my favorite is the Veal Parmigiana. Their salad with their house dressing and the warm homemade bread is a meal in itself. My Friday night dinner club comes here once a month or more.

I have personally hosted several bridal and baby showers and attended a few wedding receptions in their beautiful Banquet Room. Check out their website below for their menu, take-out, catering, and banquet info.

In my youth, I figured skated for about 15 years and my husband played Hockey for about 17 years; so we grew up skating here on and off. So naturally, not having kids of our own, I enrolled my niece here for four years of figure classes. Can I say, I still love watching the Annual Ice Show and the Hockey players.

Yes, I have still been known to rent a pair of skates and take the niece and nephews to Open Skating. Sorry to say it's not pretty to watch me but it's still fun.

Located at the southeast corner of Hunter and Wildwood. The parking lot is off Wildwood.

My dogs and I love this quiet, pretty, wooded walking trail. It's close to home and with large tree coverage. It's super cool in the hot summer months from rain. Not to mention there are several benches to sit and relax on or retie my shoes. The dogs like the trees for other reasons "squirrel".

My family and I have spent many days watching my cousin's baseball teams play. And have I mentioned the "tree coverage".

The parking is great and what a view. You might find me just sitting in my car here between appointments enjoying the view of the kids on the Playscapes and eating a meal or snack.

But I saved the best for last. This is the location of the Annual Easter Egg drop over the ball fields. The kids are so excited and are fun to watch, gathering eggs with candy or prizes.

If you see me and the dogies we are super friendly, Please stop and say hi. The park is located at the southeast corner of Hunter and Wildwood.
