Wow, what a great history, this building's site has beginning in 1848 and now it's a large church with a full basement. I have attended several weddings in their beautiful sanctuary. Most recently my uncle's funeral and luncheon. My mom and I look forward to the "Rummage" & Craft Sales every year and of course the lunch. This fall we will be attending their "Old Fashion Country Fair" with a candy booth, bake sale, a boutique shop, and more.

I am a second-generation, native of Wayne, MI born and raised. So, when I first visited the museum, it was super cool looking at an old building built in 1878. There are tons of exhibits to view; I don't want to give away all their secrets. I joked with my mom about seeing her childhood growing up with horses and buggies. No, she's not that old. A few years ago, they hosted a haunted walk through the museum at night. The stories were scary, fun, and fascinating.

"Goudy Park" is located behind Wayne City Hall on Wayne Road with parking at City Hall or behind the courthouse.

There is a playscape for the kids, benches, a picnic table to relax on, and a walking trail throughout the park. Beautiful overlook at the deck of the Rouge River. Also, there is a huge pavilion where they perform concerts and it is the location of the Farmer's Market. Just across 2nd Street is "Mill Trail Park", the entrance for the bike and walking trail that follows the Rouge River.

Funny story while walking my Great Dane "Joker" and playing "Pokémon Go", I was catching a Pokémon and Joker wanted to go meet a new fur friend. Long story short, he went one way, and my iPhone went another. Lesson learned and a new iPhone later, I can only do one or the other but not both.. LOL

Grab a blanket and picnic basket and let the kids run freely. My girlfriends and I use to hang out for hours under these huge shade trees. When we were a lot younger while gossiping, reading, or playing games. Sometimes we watched the boys play basketball. On rare occasions, we would swing our tennis rackets around for a quick game or two. There is parking on all four side streets.

Avondale Playground is where I grew up playing with my friends. It's had a whole make-over and a new playscape since my time and I am really not that old. They even added outdoor workout equipment and this cute little pavilion. My niece has totally enjoyed taking my sister and me to where we played at her age.
