Rochester Community Schools, one of the largest districts in the state of Michigan, includes the communities of Rochester, Rochester Hills, the majority of Oakland Township, as well as parts of Orion Township and Auburn Hills in northeast Oakland County and parts of Shelby Township and Washington Township in northwest Macomb County.

Serving over 15,000 students, RCS is well-equipped to handle the student load with 13 elementary schools, four middle schools, and three high schools. In addition, they offer one alternative education high school and one child care center. Their expansive programs include pre-kindergarten for children ages 3-4, comprehensive curriculum for K-12, adult education, special education for ages 0-26, before and after-school care, as well as community enrichment programs.

In light of the recent pandemic, Rochester Community Schools has also created a comprehensive Virtual Campus for students who have chosen to remain in a remote-learning environment. The district plans to keep the virtual campus post-pandemic and continues to enhance this learning environment, where students will still have the choice to take classes remotely and have access to the same expansive curriculum as in-person students.

In addition to the core curriculum, students also have access to award-winning performing arts programs (band, choir, and orchestra) as well as through the visual arts. RCS high school athletic programs boast 75 MHSAA varsity athletic teams and 90 sub-varsity teams.

Rochester Community Schools also places emphasis on inclusion and celebrates cultural diversity. More than 55 countries are represented throughout the district, giving its students and educators alike the opportunity to learn about the customs and culture of their peers.
